I felt like sharing some random stuff. Here we go.
1.) I am obsessed with Perrier water. I love it and I don’t care that it’s buying water. I love it and want to drink it, so there you go. It’s my equivalent of having a refreshing beer on a hot day. I have been encouraged to get a Soda Stream for my home and I am seriously considering it. But, I’ll still order a Perrier when I’m out on the town.
2.) When I was 17 years old I was a debutante. Really. It’s still really big in Denver. Think high society Galas, gorgeous white dresses, tuxes, doing a waltz, and a curtsy to the room. Yep, I did that.
3.) I was in a sorority. It was a lot of fun and I can’t tell you anything about it because it’s a secret.
4.) I hate beets. They are gross. Don’t ask me to try them again. Each time I try them I don’t like them 🙂 It’s never going to change.
5.) I hate bananas. They are smushy and smell bad. I can’t stand it when people eat them near me as the smell hurts my stomach. They are gross too. At this point I might lie and say I’m allergic to them. I do like fried plantains though.
6.) I started going to school when I was 2ish in Okinawa, Japan. My dad was stationed at the base there. My mom wanted me to be socialized and to have a good education. So, I started studying and learning how to “play well with others!”
7.) I am absolutely addicted to riding my bike. My mom took me for my first bike ride when I was one week old (back in the day). Infant safety wasn’t a huge issue then. Â When I was in 5th grade in Boulder, my friends and I would ride our bikes in a huge circle-for HOURS. Easily entertained.
8.) I was in Up With People. You know, the organization that Dave Letterman makes jokes about all of the time because he was rejected by them. I feel like it worked out for him.
9.) I get free stuff all of the time. Really. It’s weird. I get free coffee, free passes, and the list goes on.
10.) I get called sweetie or darling all of the time. By everyone. The thing is I don’t think I’m that sweet 🙂
11.) I used to have a huge passion for dance. I really would like to rediscover it. We’ll see how it goes.
12.) I’m an only child. Â People always say that it must be terrible. It’s not. As long as your parents are good about having you socialized then you shouldn’t feel too lonely. It’s the only thing that I’ve known. I just need to marry a guy with tons of siblings so that I can experience being an aunt.
13.) I want to be in an action film. Really. Think Kill Bill or the Losers. I should start training in the martial arts now.
14.) I would like to speak more languages and hope that I live to be 100 so that I have enough time to learn them. I already know: English (LOL), French, and Spanish. I would like to learn Portuguese, Arabic, Italian, and Korean.
15.) People who don’t enjoy reading scare me. Where are they getting their information? How do they expand their minds?
16.) Don’t laugh, but I hate random wet puddles. Did a doggie or human pee there? London was especially challenging for me. Wet puddles are everywhere. This may be a slight neurosis.
17.) I don’t have any tattoos. I don’t plan on getting any unless I get a henna tattoo.
So, Here are 17 Things You Don’t Know About Me 🙂

Severely jet lagged! Had just arrived in London the day before? For my friend’s wedding.
Was at her “hen do” which we call a “bachelorette” party Stateside
There was one point where I was basically asleep standing up.

I always love these. I want to star in an action movie too!…or at least just be in one. I’d take a supporting character at this point. As far as books, it’s just that whenever I start reading I either a)fall asleep, or b)it makes me antsy and I want to either write, clean, etc. Not sure why on either point because I read a lot as a kid. As far as getting info, oh it’s so easy these days! Oddly I don’t have the same problem reading blogs or anything else on the internet, just books make me sleepy.

Wouldn’t it be fun to be a badass ninja?! Tonya, all I’m asking is that people read. I know that you read tons so I’m not worried. Other people-color me concerned!

I love this post and you sound like you had many interesting experiences. I want to learn another language too, but I’m already so confused with 2. I don’t know if I can handle a third one.

I really would like to focus on Spanish as my primary second language but can’t wait to learn the other ones. It just takes a lot of time and focus. Of which I have very little of both right now 🙂

I have a banana for snack today (and had smushy ones in this morning’s porridge). I hate pawpaw (which you call… something I can’t recall) and cilanto/coriander.
I’m not an only child, and despite many readers being/having one, I’m tempted to ruffle feathers and post about it.

Bananas are sooo gross!! Ewww. I think we call it pawpaw. But,I did have to look it up on the internet. I think we may confuse it with papaya. Cilantro! Delicious. I am happy I was an only child as a child. As an adult I do think it would be nice to have that sibling connection. But, it’s too late now. I do think about how many kids I would like to have and the maximum is two.

I also get called sweetie quite a bit since moving to the US…and I think I look pretty intimidating at first glance so I have no idea why this happens to me either lol! Nice way to get to know you a bit more!

I’m glad to know that I’m not the only one! It’s ok they because I usually get something free after that-LOL!

That’s great that you can speak all those languages! Nice to get to know you better. Don’t hate me but I’m bananas about bananas … banana bread, banana split, banana sandwich (just had one, true), banana muffins, roseanna banana dana…
Michelle says
I have to start studying all of those languages agains because if you don’t use it-you lose it! I hate, hate bananas but I think I’m part of the 5% of the population who does. LOL.

If you already speak french and spanish, portuguese won´t be that hard. I know many people around the world fall in love with portuguese language and it always surprises me. I read about portuguese enthusiasts everywhere and it feels good to know. It´s an old, delicate, intense language with so much poetry within. Wish you all the best on that!

I’m still toying with the idea! I need about another year of really focusing on Spanish then I will decide. I love talking to people so I’m pretty sure I will decide to study Portuguese. Thanks for the support 🙂
