Sometimes you feel like changing your look without a lot of commitment. Or, you don’t have enough time to go to salon to get your hair “slayed!” Maybe you’re dealing with hair problems such as thinning or hair loss. Regardless of your reason there is a cute cheap lace front wig with your name on it. And, it doesn’t matter if you’re African-American, White, or something else-everyone is having fun with fake hair.
I’ve included a list with videos from some of my favorite wig obsessed Youtube Influencers that cover African-American or Caucasian wig ideas. All of the wigs shared below are less than $40-most are around $30. And, my goal is to help connect women with wigs that will look as real as possible.

Cheap Lace Front Wigs
Are the best thing ever! I used to spend so much money on hair because I didn’t know that there were affordable options that didn’t look:
- Super fake
- Way too shiny
- Old-fashioned
In fact, my friend Sandy Smith from Yes I Am Cheap clued me in on this and I’m never going back to expensive wigs. In my case I was spending around $150 per wig not including shipping. I would purchase typically 3 a year and switch them out as the year or my mood changed. That was almost $500 a year not including hair products for my actual hair. Now I spend around $35-$40 a wig including shipping.
In my case, I’m dealing with hair loss in different places. In fact, I’m going to get my thyroid checked because I clearly have a medical problem. Until I can get my hair thick and healthy again-lacefronts are my go to. And, I absolutely love them and feel great when I wear them.
What to Look For
Before deciding where to order from. Some of the things I look at for a great wig company are the following:
- Professionalism-Many people have been burned by companies not doing what they say or delivering bad products. If I notice in the company reviews that this is an issue-I steer clear.
- Delivery Speed-There is nothing worse than waiting for weeks for something that you’ve ordered. If the company has an issue with inventory or delivery I just ask that they notify me so that I’m not in the dark-that hasn’t happened yet with any of the companies listed.
- Pricing vs. Quality–Yes, these wigs are cheap, but, it’s absolutely insane how nice you can make them look. When I watch the wig review videos and then order a wig-I look to see if the product matches what I saw.

Current Favorite Companies
- Wigtypes-This company has a great variety of wigs and ships product pretty quickly. The one thing I don’t like about Wigtypes is that sometimes it’s hard to tell from the picture on the website how the wig will actually look. Basically, I think the picture quality does’t sell the product well. If you’re not sure about how the wig will look do Youtube searches using the wig name to see if a beauty vlogger has done a review on that wig. In fact, I would do this with any wig that you’re researching. They also have great sales.
- Sam’s Beauty-Similar to Wigtypes, Sam’s Beauty has a great variety of looks. I’ve alway’s been happy with everything that I’ve ordered and they also carry hair care products, accessories, and more. The other great selling point about Sam’s Beauty is that they have great sales. If it’s close to a holiday weekend-check out what they have on sale.
There are other companies, but these are the two that I currently order from. Ok, it’s time to check out my favorite cheap lace front wigs for under $40! And, most of the reviews are from orders placed from these companies. Show some love to the vloggers and subscribe or comment if you do that for Youtube videos 🙂
