One of the best decisions I’ve ever made was attending the second ever FinCon event held in Denver. It was 2012 and my finances were a HOT MESS. Let’s be clear, my finances aren’t quite where I want them to be, but because of what I learned from the fabulous FinCon Community-my money situation is looking a lot better. For the past 6 years I’ve not only learned how to better my finances, I’ve also learned how to run a digital business and create my best life with a ridiculous amount of mentoring, support, and resources created by people who are a part of this space. If you’re looking to invest in new business tools, courses, books, or fun swag this holiday season, I highly recommend working through the list first. A large number of the products I’ve either taken, read, or have a friend who has taken or read, or worn on of the items

FinCon Community Courses
There are a ridiculous number of courses that FinCon members have created. Let’s be clear, this is an incomplete list and I would love it if you would share awesome courses that I’ve missed below in the comments.
“Make Money with Ebooks”
Umm…so, this is actually my course! I created this course because I noticed that many people were talking themselves out of writing their first books. They were either, waiting for a traditional publishing contract, nervous that self-publishing would negatively affect their ability to traditionally publish, or just needed more support and encouragement to get their book done.
Three of my students have hit #1 in their niche on Amazon, people are finishing their books, and it has been a great experience for me to support and encourage authors to get their books done!
“Make Money With Ebooks” works to address those issues. Stop waiting and get started
The B.O.S.S. Financial Toolkit
If you’re looking for access to a ton of different products, courses, and more–The B.O.S.S. Financial Toolkit may be the bundle for you. Created by women of color who are in the personal finance space The B.O.S.S. Financial Toolkit gives users access to over 20 products to help you: get your finances in order, grow your businesses and professional development.
Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing
Michelle Schroeder-Gardner is an affiliate marketing NINJA. No lies told. She makes over six figures each month in affiliate income. If you’re looking to grow your affiliate income in 2019-learn from the mistress of all things affiliate income. Currently, she is sailing in the Caribbean in a boat that she and her husband purchased with that hard-earned money. I’m excited to share a podcast interview that I recorded with her sometime in January. Stay tuned for that!
Earn More Writing
If you’re looking to become a freelance writer or grow your freelance writing business-Earn More Writing is the course that I recommend. Holly Johnson is a freelance writing BADASS. Seriously. She is currently making almost $300,000 a year in freelancing and blog related income. She is also developing a course on travel writing and is an expert at travel hacking.
Elite Blog Academy
A large number of bloggers that I know have purchased the Elite Blog Academy course and community. I am also one of those people! I love the community, the resources, and support that encompass this course. Ruth Soukup, creator of this program, is serious about maintaining the quality of this course. I took it several years ago and had to be “re-certified” to become an affiliate again. What did that mean? It meant that I had to go through all of the new training content from her course before being approved as an affiliate again-even though I had taken the course.
She’s not messing around.
This course goes on sale basically once a year. Join the waitlist NOW so that you don’t miss out. By the way, it’s my view that you should be blogging long enough to be really into blogging before purchasing this course.
10KVA
Sick of your 9-5 and thinking seriously about becoming a virtual assistant? Then Kayla Sloan’s course, “$10KVA” is the course for you. She has built her business through building a fantastic brand as a virtual assistant and has trained other successful VA’s as well.
Kayla is also systems and productivity expert for those of you needing help with that. Finally, students of the course have the opportunity to be on a list that Kayla shares with entrepreneurs seeking well-trained and professional VA’s to help them run their businesses. I like that Kayla has makes sure that her students understand that they are equal partners with their clients and business people.
TeachMeHowToWP
If you’re looking to use WordPress for your next course and are intimidated by it, Maddy Osman has you covered. She loves WordPress. I’m not joking. And, she understands the ends and outs of using this system to create your next website. I wish that I had access to this course when I first made the switch to WordPress. TeachMeHowToWP is a thorough, comprehensive guide through what can be an intimidating tool to use.
Maddy also shares website audits on her Facebook page as well.
WordPress Support
If you currently have a blog, or are looking to start a blog and are intimidated by all of the technical aspects of running a blog-Grayson Bell and iMark Interactive should be speed dial. Grayson has helped me numerous times when I’ve had technical difficulties, was confused, or just didn’t have the energy to deal with it.
Honestly, I can’t recommend Grayson Bell enough. He’s a great guy, professional, explains what you need to know, and never talks down to his clients
Facebook Ads for Email Growth
Aja McClanahan grew her email list by over 3,000 new subscribers and decided to share how. She double-downed on Facebook ads and shares the system that grew her list to over 10,000 email subscribers and increased her digital-income. This course is great if you’re looking to dip your toe into Facebook ads and need help breaking down the concepts.
Flourish With Facebook Ads
Monica Louie has become known for Facebook Ads prowess. She knows her stuff and the list of influencers who have worked with her and created successful Facebook campaigns is growing each day. Facebook ads one of the best ways to get your products in front of your ideal customers.
Stop marketing in front of the wrong people, and get in front of the right audience for your product.
Small Business Incubator
Sandy Smith has worked more side-hustles than most small towns. SHE KNOWS HER STUFF. Sandy also founded The Hustle Crew where she inspires supports and shares ways to make more money via: side-hustles or micro-businesses. The Small Business Incubator is a comprehensive course that walks business owners through every part of small-business creation that you could ever think of.
How to Blog with a Full-Time Job
Natalie Bacon is killing it online! And, I’m not surprised that she created the one course addressing the #1 question most bloggers get from wannabe bloggers-How to Blog with a Full-Time Job.
To be honest, it’s both easy and difficult to do and Natalie walks through the different things that people need to consider if they’re looking to grow a blog while working full-time.
Making Sense of Sponsored Posts
Michelle Schroeder-Gardener of Making Sense of Cents and her sister Alexis from FitFinancials have just dropped a new course on Black Friday-Making Sense of Sponsored Posts. This was a course that many people were asking asking for and I’m looking forward to checking it out.
Crystal Sews
I remember when I was a teenager and my mom offered to teach me how to sew. I told her “no” and that I could just go shopping. Many years later-I regret that! And, my mom told me she didn’t have the patience to teach me. Luckily, my friend Crystal Hammond has created a course to teach people how to sew. Click here to get started!
The Debt-Free Guys
Have a course ALL about paying off credit card debt. While it is an amazing resource geared towards addressing LGBQT community specific financial concerns quite honestly, it’s universal in scope. John and David are owning that space and are so inspiring. Click here to check out the course.
Books to Read
It feels like every month there is another new and amazing book that a FinCon Community member has written. I can’t keep up with them all. And, as a voracious reader, trust me-I try to read them all. Below is a small list of books to add to your personal finance/business-related section of your home library.
House of F.I. Podcast also has these great t-shirts!
