I am laying on the beach relaxing. The sun is hot but not so hot that I have to leave. There is a sea of people surrounding me: playing in the sand, bobbing in the sea, sleeping in the sun for a little too long, and carrying surfboards into the sea.
Waikiki beach and the city of Honolulu left me with some very strong feelings but that’s a post for another day.
I decide to check my phone, not because I’m expecting a call-but, out of habit. I see that I have a message from a woman named Melissa Jasmin who runs the podcast The CFO Woman. She’s contacting me because she would like to interview me for her podcast. The crazy thing about this email is that I figured out that she lives in Hawaii…in the city of Honolulu and I know that we have to meet!
So, we arranged to meet. The first thing I ask is, “Did you know that I was in Hawaii?” and Melissa’s answer was “No.” I am convinced that we were supposed to meet and I had the pleasure of learning about Melissa’s mission to empower women financially and I also had the opportunity to meet Melissa and her lovely family.
The following is the podcast that we recorded. I hope you enjoy it and encourage you to support Melissa and her wonderful mission to empower women (and families) financially.

I should also so that if you’re a blogger I strongly encourage you to meet other bloggers in your community or in other locations that you may be visiting. I have become friends with a number of people who have become part of my support system, friends, and advocates.
Her kids are so cute!

Whoa! So cool that she contacted you while you were in her neck of the woods!! There are several other PF bloggers within a couple hours of me but it’s hard to arrange to meet since my kiddos are so young. But I hope to soon. Can’t wIt to listen to the podcast!

If I were in your town I would just say bring the kids along! Kids are fun 🙂 Yep, it was completely random and I had to meet her. She had no idea that I was in Hawaii when she contacted me.

Yes. I need to reach out more in person. I sooooo want to be transported back to Hawaii too. I could skip the travel headache and just poof myself there – I’d be doing good!
