Holy Moly, it’s December 1st as I type up my November Blog Income Report and I’m kind of in shock. Denver is thawing out after an eventful holiday weekend of snow, fog, and wind. I had the fantastic experience of falling on my back in the middle of the street where luckily I wasn’t run over by oncoming traffic. As is typical with the end of the year, I find myself winding down and just wanting to rest quietly in my home drinking tea and reading romance novels.

November 2019 Blog Income Report
At this time of year I enjoy picking up fun side-hustles. This year is no different even though my goal is to break up with side-hustles by the end of December. I was paid to go to Breckenridge (my favorite mountain town) with a friend of mine at the beginning of November and it was glorious. This is the one side-hustle that is difficult to let go of because they pay for accommodation/food/and of course the work that I do while in town.
It’s not that hard. I basically talk to people about the product. And, I’m a huge fan of the product so it’s fun to do.
You’ll notice a couple of things about this income report:
- Heavy on the side-hustles-again, I tend to pick up a lot of side-work at this time of year.
- Still no freelance writing-I decided to wait until December to begin pitching for new clients. I just didn’t have the energy to do it in November.
- I’ve begun to include side-hustle earnings this fall because I thought it was important to show that income stream.
- No course sales-Interestingly enough, I sold courses in previous months but not in November. Not too worried about this as I’m working a different strategy starting now to help support and grow one of my favorite income streams.
I never include the following in my Blog Income Reports:
- Partial earnings-they are way too confusing to included and it could take forever to get to the earnings threshold for a payout.
November $4100.38
Considering that I didn’t work that hard during November, I feel pretty good about this. Here’s a breakdown on the numbers.
- $1988-Side-hustles These were actually a lot of fun and I did a couple of focus groups as well.
- $260-Affiliate Income
- $1171.88 Autumn Stone Romances and Michelle Jackson book Sales
- $481.38–Pending Book Sales that will be paid at the end January
What hit my actual accounts $3619.38. I loved that I received almost $1500 in passive income payments. That number will likely dip in December and January.
December 2019 Areas of Focus
I’m super excited as I’m working on my website Square State again. At this point, I’m very happy about the direction that Michelle is Money Hungry is going and I plan on continuing what I’ve worked on for the past year. For those of you who are wondering what Square State is all about-it’s my website all about Denver and Colorado based interests.
What I plan on working on this month:
- Batching my content and podcast episodes. My goal is to get a month ahead on all of my content.
- Releasing my holiday romance boxset for Autumn Stone Romances.
- Pitching and picking up 3 freelance writing clients.
- Prep for podcast sponsor pitches. I will begin sending those out in January.
- Begin pitching podcasts for interviews. I have a 100 podcast challenge that I’m working on. Basically, I would like to be interviewed on 100 podcasts by the end of 2020. I have a list with around 130 shows and I’ve worked out how many episodes a month I need to be interviewed on to hit my goal.
- Growing my blog page views. They are pretty low. But, I want people to learn something from that, even though I have painful page views-I’m making more money. I began sharing blog income reports January 2018 and the first report I earned $11 in passive income. There’s more than one way to make money online and you don’t necessarily need a ton of page views to make it happen.
- My podcast numbers have been going up nicely. I love podcasting and will continue focusing on it.
- Preparing for my 2 1/2 week social media break at the end of this month. I CAN’T WAIT!

I love learning new stuff and I’m picking up some freelancing going into the New Year. I think the combo that compliments your job is a great approach too. Much easier to do.

Hi Michelle –
I’ve been reading through your blog for the past couple weeks and have really enjoyed seeing your progression as an entrepreneur. It’s inspiring! I’m curious about your ebook writing, however. Maybe I missed it mentioned in the blog, but how did you get into writing your romance series? How do you manage to be so prolific? Do you target a certain number of ebooks written/published each month (or quarter)? I’d love to build a catalog of published ebooks like you have, but it seems like sheer volume and selling sets is vital. I, personally, can’t imagine building a large ebook inventory within the next 12 months with a FT day job and infant. Curious to learn a bit more about your process for creating so much content so quickly.

Hi Gerrica,
Thank you for your comment. I will be honest and say that it was really HARD to write the number of books that I did because I was also hosting my Money on the Mountain Financial Retreat. That said here are some thing to consider: I don’t have a FT job or baby! So, I currently have very few demands on my time throughout the day. I do run my own business FT. My process for 2020-I have the goal of releasing at least a book a month. For fiction based books such as the romances, I keep a spreadsheet of ideas, then I plot out the books that I’m really excited about. Then, I put my butt in a chair and get to work. Here is the advice that my friends with kids/FT jobs shared when building up their businesses:
1.) Be clear about your priorities. For me, making passive income is huge. The books and blog based affiliates are the ways that I currently make passive income, so I prioritize them.
2.) If the kids are asleep-that’s when you’re working-My friend Sandy Smith has a toddler-she is also regularly working on her business when most people are sleeping. Seriously, on a daily basis-again, her business is a priority.
3.) Your sacrifice is just for a season. The time you’re putting in now/sleepless nights etc. are just for a season in your life, not forever.
Also, I create content really quickly and enjoy writing. So, writing the books is fun for me.
