It is almost the end of my first week of embracing a new morning routine called The Miracle Morning. I’ve spent some time focusing on how to have a balanced and productive life while maintaining a high level of productivity.
My Miracle Morning Routine
- 4:00 a.m.-Wake up. TURN ON LIGHT!!! Drink a glass of water with lemon
- 4:10 a.m.-6:00 a.m.-Meditate, journal, focus on gratitude, look at my Vision Board, and read a non-fiction book. Currently I’m reading
- a Self-help book focused on relationships (hey, it’s pretty good!)
- 6:10 a.m.-7:30 a.m.-Walk in the park, and go to the gym
**Short naps in the afternoon are allowed if needed. I’m a napper.**
You’re probably thinking DANG girl-that’s pretty freaking early. Yes, yes it is. But, I have to say it has really changed the tone of my days. I’m a lot more productive. I don’t feel frustrated or resentful when I’m doing work. I’m able to go to networking events in the morning and still start working on my projects on time.
I’m still trying to decide how I will approach the weekends. Maybe I’ll just continue waking up at the same time and then take a nap? I’ll let you know.
This routine is so important to me because I’m about to ramp up my work schedule and start working on some projects that I’ll tell you about later 🙂 I have a 4 week turn around for these projects so I have to buckle down and get them done.
Purposeful Procrastination-Podcast is Delayed Again (sorry)
I am so excited to begin sharing my podcast but I’ve decided to postpone the my podcast one more time. I don’t want to say I’m procrastinating…maybe I am. I just want to make sure that I’ve given myself enough time to launch this project in a really good way.
But, you could show some love for Jessica from Mo Money, Mo Houses as she kicks off her podcast this week! She’s awesome so please support her. Here’s the link: Let’s Talk Money!
Podcasts That I’m Listening To Right Now
Oddly enough, I was listening to very few podcasts until recently. I’m now scary obsessed with several including:
I listen to these podcasts during my exercise hour in the morning. They are super motivational and I’ve learned a lot of important information and have been inspired along the way!
Over at The Money Spot
Remember awhile ago I mentioned that I would be writing for The Money Spot? Well, in case you forgot-I’ve had the opportunity to write for The Money Spot. It has been a great experience and I get to write about some topics that I care about but would typically not cover on TSMCP. I’d like to share a few posts with you.
- The Number One Task That That Every Business Owner and Solopreneur Must Do Weekly
- I Broke Up With My Credit Cards
- It’s Possible for a Family of Four To Spend Less Than $1000 A Month On Groceries
Hope you have an amazing weekend!!

I can’t believe you get up so early in the morning. I’m in the military and unless I’m heading out to meet the ship to go out at sea you will never see me up earlier than 5am just because I can. Congrats on the staffing job and I will check out your articles.

Thanks Petrish!! I’m actually a collaborator on the site 🙂 Glen is a pf blogger who has another site called Monster Piggy Bank. He has a number of sites and this one he did a call for collaborators on. So, myself and another blogger were picked to work with him. You should check it out! I am NOT a morning person by nature, so to do this challenge is really pushing me out of my comfort zone. BUT, it has made a huge, huge difference to the tone of my day. And, I’m a lot more productive. I have some huge projects that I’m working on so this is a great time to embrace this habit because I have ton to do.

I like the concept of the Miracle Morning, Michelle, because when I wonder applying to myself, I believe I can accomplish more tasks than before. Waking up at this early time and having those positive things to do like meditating are surely creating a good, positive environment and energy. Good vibes are comin.

I am A LOT more productive and I noticed a huge difference on the weekend when I woke up a little later. I’m tweaking it a little, but I am pretty committed to it.

4am is really early, but I can see how you get a lot accomplished at that time. Did you ease into 4am or just decide to start the next day?
Michelle says
It IS really early LOL. I just love that all of my “Michelle” stuff is done by the time I start working. I picked that time from my experience from last year when I was still working my old job. I started to get up earlier around 4:30 a.m. with a similar goal in mind. It worked for awhile but I was overly tired already from commuting. Now, I’m a lot more rested and I’m trying to do a lot more so I need to really focus and get things done.

Whoa, I’m still working on getting up at 6 am! Haha. But even this change really helps with my energy levels. One day, I’ll get to that magical 4 am wake up time.

It hasn’t been easy. I’ve played around with different times (a bit later) and 4:00 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. continue to be the best ones. Sigh.
