Do you ever actively imagine that you are a character in a book, play, or television show? Have you ever thought about what your role would be in whatever story you envision your self being in?
The story I chose today is “50 Shades of Grey” the title character, Christian, will be played by Alexander Skarsgard of True Blood fame. Of course I will play Anastasia’s role
If you don’t know, Mr. Grey is a bit…naughty. For a better understanding, read the books. It won’t take you too long. For those of you who have read the books I hope you enjoy this.
Christian: “Anastasia, I am going to set some rules”
Anastasia-thinking to herself “Oh my f-fing goodness he’s hot”
Christian–“We need to choose for you a safe word before we start working on your finances. How about-savings?”
Anastasia–“Yes, I feel protected and safe when thinking about having a savings”
Christian-“I want to give you a credit card and spoil you. I’m a billionaire. Then, I will make mad passionate love to you on a trip using my private jet instead of frequent flyer miles”
Anastasia-“Sorry, but my hard limit is debt, and credit cards create debt. I don’t want the card, and I’m not your mistress. I’m your girlfriend. So, let’s discuss the trip using your private jet. I just feel a little weird about it.”
Christian-is amused by her unwillingness to cooperate, but, that’s what has intrigued him about her the whole time. “I could give you some stocks, they are dividend producing”
Anastasia-hmm, will have to google the word “dividend” I have no idea what he’s talking about. “Let’s talk dirty Christian, the following words give me a thrill; invest, retirement planning, 401k, debt free”
Christian-“You’re so hot when you talk money, let me buy you that new car, I hate the old one. It is a death trap”
Anastasia-“Christian, I want to be with you, just for you. Stop trying to buy things for me. That car is paid off and it still works. Even though I’ll look hot in a new car-I am happy with the old one. I’m content with what I have. Can’t we just go on a hike in the mountains and have a picnic?”
Christian-“So, you don’t like being spoiled? Will there be consequences every time I pull out a credit card or offer to buy you something?”
Anastasia-“I love being spoiled. But, I can’t let you buy all of these things for me at this stage in the relationship. Remember, every time you buy something or spend like a crazy on something you don’t need it is a bad habit. Even rich people lose everything. What are you trying to prove? I can’t be there every time to give you a naughty tap when you pull out the credit card”
Christian-“I love it when you talk DIRTY money!”
Anastasia-“Get your mind out of the gutter! I’m going to work on my Shop My Closet Project. I need to see what I have, be content using it, and will still look hot on your arm at the same time. Laters, babe”
Christian–raises an eyebrow and smiles-“Laters”

I was trying to get everyone hot and bothered about financial discussions! Maybe I was too successful in the wrong direction. LOL!

BAHAHAHAHA, ok I got about a third of the way in and now have convinced myself to read the books and frame everything as a personal finance situation. Love it!

I haven’t read the book either, but I might be a little more interested if it was more of a salacious personal finance theme and less of the bondage S&M type stuff. LOL! Cute!

Isn’t it better with a personal finance theme? Just think-savings!
