During the past couple of weeks I’ve spent more time in the mountains. I love going into the mountains for many reasons, the fresh air, the energy, and the weird dreams. Yep, I have crazy weird, vivid dreams when I’m in the mountains. And, I pay attention to them. This winter has not been easy. I’m not sure why. It has been hard in ways that have been frustrating. And, weirdly enough, Tiger Woods (who I’m indifferent to) has won the Masters and clearly has ended the season that he has been in for quite awhile (he got his karma right). Why am I talking about the beginning and ending of seasons in our lives? Because a lot of times we feel like we’re only existing in the moment that we’re in…that’s not the case. We’re existing in a series of moments. So, today I’m getting woo woo on you.

Show Notes
- Warning, this episode is a little bit woo-woo. Actually, it’s a lot woo-woo.
- Today, I want to talk about being at the end of a season in your life metaphorically speaking.
- When I look back at my life, I reflect on the different seasons in my life.
- Extreme youth-when I was super young and just discovering the world and my role in it
- Let’s Explore the World-When I began traveling the world and discovering the world outside my doorstep
- The Dance Years-Those lasted FOREVER
- My season of debt-Umm, that lasted for freaking EVER as I’m still in it and wrapping up one of the major segments of debt.
- But, eventually, a season will change and end, especially if you’re working towards it. Even, if you DON’T believe that it will end.
- The most recent season that I was in was a season of learning. I had no idea how challenging this season would be because it’s a different type of learning than going to college. I had to learn about myself, my limits, and what I’m capable of. It has been an incredibly challenging season of life to be in.
- The other day I was at one of my favorite spaces in Denver “Modern Nomad” they have multiple business concepts in this space. And, my favorite is ReRoot, a plant shop, run by a young woman that I would call Poison Ivy…but, she’s super sweet, so I would change her name to “Joyful Ivy” In her shop, she carries, besides lovely plants: sage bundles for cleansing your home of “energies” some books, and cards. After being given a free mimosa, I wandered over and looked at a deck of cards curiously and then pulled out a card. The card was called “The Cosmic Egg” it had an egg with a snake wrapped around it. Here’s what it basically said (and I quote) “The Cosmic Egg is the Final card in the journey of the Animal Spirit deck, and it represents the unfolding of cosmic consciousness. This state emerges after we have tread the path for quite some time, and through self-effort and grace we experience self realization. A sense of contentment and oneness spontaneously arises within us, and the veils of our self-limiting beliefs are lifted.” Yes, this is woo-woo, and yes, this is how I’ve been feeling for awhile. Please note: I do take these things with a grain of salt.
- I also pray about things as well. And, recently, I just feel…like I’m at the end of what feels like about a 7 year season in my life that has been HARD. I’ve been humbled, I’ve worked towards a difficult goal, and I’ve learned a lot about myself along the way.
- Don’t ignore the signs that you’re in a season in your life. It could be that you’re friendships are ending/a relationship is beginning/you’ve released…something.
- Ask yourself, what are you supposed to learn during this season? I’ve learned that I am capable of dreaming big. Creating cool things, and executing projects.
- Don’t push, sometimes I try to PUSH to make things happen…and, it never works.
What Next?
It’s time for a HUGE purge and a fresh start. What does that look like?
- An actual HUGE purge of stuff in my home. And, as I near the end of paying of my unsecured debt, I’m looking forward to not dealing with these entities in my life.
- Summer hair-seriously, it’s a thing, most women understand this. Looking forward to rocking my new look soon.
- A focus on passive income-specifically, selling my books that I LOVE writing and everything has come so easily as it relates to that part of my business. Book sales will be my primary revenue focus for the summer. Things have been ramping up on the book side of my business and that will be my only focus for the summer.
- Losing weight-I miss dancing. Seriously, I miss it so much, and I’m excited to share that I will be dancing again starting this week.
- Getting rid of 50% of my clothes-They aren’t sparking joy and are about to be Marie Kondo’d out of my life. But, the weather is NOT cooperating. Come on Denver, warm up consistently so that I can get rid of my winter clothes.

Thinking About Starting a Blog?
I love blogging! It has been an incredible experience, transformed my life, and connected me with a ton of amazing people. Blogging is a pretty cheap activity and I recommend hosting your blog with Siteground. Many bloggers have begun leaving HostGator and BlueHost and moving to Siteground. Myself included! Read why I’m leaving HostGator and BlueHost (I have 2 blogs one on each hosting platform) and moving to Siteground. If you’re a new blogger Sitegroundwill cost around $3.95 a month (depending on the size of your audience). They have great customer service and tutorials on how to host your new WordPress blog on Siteground
Online Business Resources
If you’re thinking about starting an online business, the resources below are a great way to get started.
- The Ultimate List of FinCon Community Products
- Courses
- Books
- Swag
- Make Money with Ebooks–There is more than one way to make money with your writing skills. I’ve created this course to help inspire, educate, and support writers who are sitting on a book idea…and are afraid to write it. This is YOUR year.Make Money with Ebooks is offered at three different tiers to meet different student needs.
- Self-Study
- Group Program-Includes access to the closed Facebook Group and twice a month live office hours.
- VIP Program-Includes access to the closed Facebook Group, twice a month live office hours, and 2 meetings with Michelle to work on book related strategies, goals, etc.
- $10KVA–Are you curious about becoming a Virtual Assistant as a side-hustle or a potential full-time gig? My friend Kayla Sloan is killing it as a Virtual Assistant and schooling other entrepreneurs in how to become a VA that earns on average $10KVA. This course is what I recommend as the first part of creating a virtual assistant business.
- Making Sense of Affiliate Income-If you’re looking to make affiliate income with your blog, Michelle Schroeder-Gardner’s course is the course that I recommend. She makes well over a $1 Million a year blogging and the biggest chunk of her income comes from affiliate marketing.
- IMark Interactive–Grayson Bell helps me with all of my website related tech issues and he is THE go to guy for WordPress related tech in the several different blogging niches (all the Personal Finance peeps work with him).
- Elite Blog Academy-Many bloggers have gone through this course and I consider this course the “Granddaddy” of all blogging courses. It’s not cheap, but in additional to getting all of the resources that are key to building an incredible blog, you’re also become a part of an insanely supportive (and huge) community of bloggers. Many of whom are making crazy money.

Loved this episode. So true. Boise was definitely a distinct season for me. I think friendships are seasons too. And like you said, you can’t force anything. Sometimes it’s best to just be prepared for ALL kinds of seasons and all kinds of weather.

I felt so woo-woo doing this episode. But, I think that it’s so important to be aware of the different moments that we’re in . I think some people have a hard time recognizing when a “shift” is occurring. Boise DEFINITELY was a season for you.
