I really like many of Dave Ramsey’s financial philosophies. The baby steps make a lot of sense: 1.) have an emergency account 2.) Start with the smallest debt-begin paying things off 3) accelerate your mortgage payments 4.) Invest in your Retirement Accounts …So, that you can “Live like no other-Dave Ramsey” I might not have all of the steps listed, but you get the picture. His view, and rightly so is that no debt is good debt. But, as I listen to his radio show I find myself cringing at times. Is his message lost by being a self-righteous know it all? Not all of his guests need that treatment. He says that he is a Christian. Isn’t he missing the point that helping people can come from a place of love. Stay with me here. What I mean is, he might be a lot more affective by being honest and kind. So, instead of me saying that Dave has “moved into the house.” He has moved into the garage. Where important stuff is kept like-your car and your dart collection. But, those items-like your car, stay in the garage because of the fumes (his slightly stank attitude!) I do want to yell “I’m debt free!” But, I want to be treated right. I get that I made mistakes. If I’m calling you I am at least subconsciously admitting that mistakes have been made. Help me out. I have probably judged myself enough. So readers tune out the yelling. He does have good things to say. Focus.

Came across your blog when I searched “am I the only one who thinks Dave Ramsey is judgemental.” I felt refreshed! I frequently felt condemned and not encouraged after I listened to Dave, even though like you I agreeed with his concepts. Then I explored more of your posts and found them encouraging- thanks!

Celeste, I like his financial concepts and philosophies-I just hate how he yells at people and disrespects them. I can’t stand it. Thanks for stopping by!
