Last month was huge! I traveled to London to be a bridesmaid in one of my dearest friend’s wedding. I also attended a professional conference in St. Louis a few days after I returned from overseas. Now, as things start to settle down I am talking the time to reflect on the first 6 months of the year. It’s amazing how this year is just flying by. I thought it would be a great time to see if I’ve achieved any of the remaining pending goals that I have on my list from January.
- Grow my Social Media Platform-this has been growing slowly but steadily. I am no where close to the goal I set for myself I was hoping for 1,000 Twitter and Facebook followers each. I am currently at 563 and 543. These are still decent numbers.
- Contribute regularly to other blogs-YES! I have had the opportunity to be a Guest Blogger for: Tonya at Budget and the Beach, Lance at Money Life and More, I was interviewed by Toni from the Debt Free Divas! I am also writing for a Real Estate Company’s blog.
- Run Workshops-I didn’t put this on my original list, but I was hoping to run some workshops locally. I had the opportunity to work with my library and I ran two different workshops. The first was on shopping your closet, the other was on working your grocery budget! They were a lot of fun and I can’t wait to run some more.
- Have Guest Posts: Jason Steele wrote a great post on Travel and Money.
- Giveaways-Still haven’t done this! Have some ideas going into the Fall Holiday Season
- Went to London-Done! Cash only trip.
- Lucerne-CANCELLED-my boss/job was concerned that I would be out of the office way too often. It kind of sucked because I have 2 weeks of vacation time left. That’s ok, it will save me TONS of $ and I will accrue a ton of vacation time to use for later.
- Firefly Run-WIll be doing this in July. I’ve already purchased the discounted admission price. *No Cherry Creek Sneak this year
- Visit Grandma in Illinois-not yet
- Take a trip with my mom to NYC-Not yet.
- Run a 1/2 Marathon-that will not happen this year. But, I will be doing this at the beginning of next year. There will be a post on that soon.
- WORK-I still am not at Rock Star status yet. But, I am plugging away on this.
- Library Fines-They are MUCH lower!! I’ve been working very hard to cut this leak in my budget.
- Credit Cards-Ironically, for a p.f. blog I don’t mention numbers a lot. But, I am on track to pay off 3 cards by September. I will let you know the amounts when they are paid off.
- Extra Income-Michelle from Making Sense of Cents is my extra money guru. Now that things are settling down I have tasked myself with earning significant amounts of extra income to accelerate my debt repayments. I’m so done. I have been for a long while but money is so mental. I don’t know if I believed I could do it. Now I do and I can’t wait to kick some a@@ !!
- Fully fund my Emergency Fund-Nope. Still working on this. I would like to have this completed by December 24, 2013.
- Dating-Meet someone. It’s still going slow. But, I’m feeling pretty positive about things.
I am still doing my No Spend/Shop My Closet Project. I haven’t gone shopping since April 1, 2013 and I don’t miss going to the mall at all. I kind of miss online shopping, but not really! The future is looking bright and I look forward to all of the upcoming challenges, opportunities, and risks that I will be taking.
Have you taking an inventory of your 2013 goals? How are you doing so far? Have you added, dropped, or tweaked your list? Are you surprised by what you’ve accomplished so far?

Feel free to ignore my other “testing’ comment. Just wanted to make sure it’s working before I typed out a whole long comment. I’ll copy and past this one just in case. lol! So far it looks like you’re on track with a lot of things! I would love to do a 1/2 marathon too, but I know that would mean like starting over with running since running on pavement versus sand is quite different and really hurts my legs. But I came to close to a 1/2 on the sand, so I know it’s possible to do it. Can’t wait to hear about your plan for it! Hope you pay off those cc on time like you planned as well. I’m sure that will feel like a huge relief when you do!

Haha! I don’t get why this happens! Tonya, you would kick a@@ doing a 1/2 marathon because of all of the running on sand. I am really intimidated by the idea of doing it which is why it has been on my list of things to do. I hope I pay off the cc’s too!

Oh no I missed that your Lucerne trip got cancelled! Hopefully one day you’ll be able to get there – it’s so beautiful!
Our financial goals are doing okay. Just gotta keep plugging away 🙂

I am a little bummed about it as it was a big unofficial reunion. But, I have some other trips happening so it’s ok! It saves me alot of money though 🙂
