It was then end of 2018 and we’d all survived the mid-term elections barely. I’d finally stopped emotionally eating and my eye twitch had finally stopped. Then, I heard the sentence that I dreaded “election 2020 has begun.” WHAT THE??? What have we done to deserve this? And, regardless of which side of the political aisle you’re on-you’ve probably got that angry political friend who has lost their mind and needs to calm the heck down. These gifts are for your angry political friend…and that just might be YOU.

Gifts for Your Angry Political Friend
You can never have enough candles safely placed inside an aquarium and watched like a hawk so you don’t accidentally burn your place down when you dose off after a day of worry about the country.
A yoga kit is always a nice gift when you want to workout from home and get your positive chi on. No need to go outside and deal with questionable people.
Use the Mindful Meditation app via Alexa to keep calm and relax as you work through your yoga poses.
To tired to deal with yoga? Drink a soothing cup of tea and relax while thinking positive thoughts.
The best thing that has happened for adults are adult coloring books. Subtlety is not needed with the coloring book below. There is no confusing when you give this coloring book to your angry political friend. Calm The F#ck Down. Hopefully the coloring will help them.
Maybe you understand why your angry political friend is so angry. Grab your own coloring book so that you can color in tandem. It’s all “bullsh#t!” And, for the next two years whip out your coloring book whenever you need to cuss someone out…and can’t…and shouldn’t.
Happiness is the way, it shouldn’t be a destination. This book will help its readers keep everything in perspective.
Sometimes you need approach happiness as a project and The Happiness Project is just the book to give you guidance and ideas on how to do that.
If you’re angry about our country’s finances and worried about your own finances, my friend Jason Vitug’s book “You Only Live Once” shares a nuanced perspective on how to address these concerns.
Sometimes it’s important to just declare to the world how you’re feeling…even if it’s not how you’re feeling right now. Maybe if you tell yourself enough times you’ll actually end up being “ZEN AF.”
There is a lot of negative energy swirling around during an election season. Salt Rock Lamps are a great way to pull that energy out of your space. And, they are nice to look at while laying in bed worrying about the state of the world.
The world during an election season can be an unnecessarily noisy place. The White Noise app is a great way to create soothing noise in the background that encourages restful sleep.
I still like Pharrell’s song happy.
Sometimes you just have to tell people that you’re in your happy place.
I’m good enough, strong enough, and I’m a beautiful flower trying to bloom in the muck that is American politics. Your angry political friend will love these and wonder if they have a pair with snowflakes on them too?

Thinking About Starting a Blog?
I love blogging! It has been an incredible experience, transformed my life, and connected me with a ton of amazing people. Blogging is a pretty cheap activity and I recommend hosting your blog with Siteground. Many bloggers have begun leaving HostGator and BlueHost and moving to Siteground. Myself included! Read why I’m leaving HostGator and BlueHost (I have 2 blogs one on each hosting platform) and moving to Siteground. If you’re a new blogger Siteground will cost around $3.95 a month (depending on the size of your audience). They have great customer service and tutorials on how to host your new WordPress blog on Siteground

If you’re thinking about starting an online business, the resources below are a great way to get started.
- The Ultimate List of FinCon Community Products
- Courses
- Books
- Swag
- Make Money with Ebooks–There is more than one way to make money with your writing skills. I’ve created this course to help inspire, educate, and support writers who are sitting on a book idea…and are afraid to write it. This is YOUR year.Make Money with Ebooks is offered at three different tiers to meet different student needs.
- Self-Study
- Group Program-Includes access to the closed Facebook Group and twice a month live office hours.
- VIP Program-Includes access to the closed Facebook Group, twice a month live office hours, and 2 meetings with Michelle to work on book related strategies, goals, etc.
- $10KVA–Are you curious about becoming a Virtual Assistant as a side-hustle or a potential full-time gig? My friend Kayla Sloan is killing it as a Virtual Assistant and schooling other entrepreneurs in how to become a VA that earns on average $10KVA. This course is what I recommend as the first part of creating a virtual assistant business.
- Making Sense of Affiliate Income-If you’re looking to make affiliate income with your blog, Michelle Schroeder-Gardner’s course is the course that I recommend. She makes well over a $1 Million a year blogging and the biggest chunk of her income comes from affiliate marketing.
- IMark Interactive–Grayson Bell helps me with all of my website related tech issues and he is THE go to guy for WordPress related tech in the several different blogging niches (all the Personal Finance peeps work with him).
- Elite Blog Academy-Many bloggers have gone through this course and I consider this course the “Granddaddy” of all blogging courses. It’s not cheap, but in additional to getting all of the resources that are key to building an incredible blog, you’re also become a part of an insanely supportive (and huge) community of bloggers. Many of whom are making crazy money.
