For those of you who don’t know-I have a podcast! I love my podcast because it combines a couple of my favorite things: connecting with new people and (ahem) talking. Currently, my podcast is called Girl Gone Frugal a nod to the frugal habits I had to pick up in order to change cut my overall budget so that I could quit my job and embrace entrepreneurship.
My Guests
I interview people who are making their living unconventionally via online entrepreneurship or interesting living choices such as working for half the year then riding your bike for the other part of the year (Ultra Romance). The interviewees that I speak with are phenomenal, inspiring, and amazing. My past guests include:
- Tess Vigeland former NPR Host and author of the book Leap.
- Mrs. Frugalwoods from The Frugalwoods
- John and David from The Debt Free Guys
Upcoming guests (pre-recorded) Include the following:
- Mr. Money Mustache
- LaTisha Styles-From the website Young Finances
- Stefanie O’Connell-Author of The Broke and Beautiful Life
And many more!
I’m Changing The Name
But, not the content. I’ve decided to change the name of Girl Gone Frugal to The D.O.N.E. Society podcast which ties into the The 31 D.O.N.E. Society Challenge that I’ve launched today. Why did I decide to change the name?
- I thought it was confusing to people and that potential listeners would think that the podcast was about frugality instead of: online entrepreneurship, being unconventional, pushing your limits, risk, and more. The name didn’t speak to that.
- I want the podcast to be viewed as a resource not only by my 31 Day D.O.N.E. Society Challenge but other would be online entrepreneurs or just people who would like to hear from people who worked hard to forge their own path outside of the traditional J.O.B.
- I’m only 18 episodes into my podcast. This is the time to rebrand it!
The DONE Society Podcast
By the way it’s DONE not D.O.N.E. to make it easy for people to find the show on iTunes and Stitcher. One of the things that I realize in business is that there are moments when you have to go big or go home.
I shared earlier this month that my word for the year is NOW! I’m taking risks and doing some things that are a bit out of my comfort zone: like Periscope. But, the opportunity to help people far outweighs the discomfort.
The 31 Day D.O.N.E. Society Challenge
Earlier today I announced the inaugural launch of my 31 Day D.O.N.E. Society Challenge. If you are:
- A Doer-you know, that person who works hard…but life isn’t how you imagined it would be. Lack of freedom, lack of flexibility, and annoying bosses?
- A Dreamer-You have lots of great ideas but you have a hard time with focus and implementation.
- Disenchanted-You’re just fed up with everything and need to make a change.
Then this is the Challenge for you! If you’re looking for a community of people who have just started working towards their D.O.N.E. (Done Onto New Experiences) moment, are focused on online entrepreneurship, and looking for resources, encouragement, and a little bit of woo-woo this space is for you.
Challenge Starts March 1, 2016

Exactly-that’s why it’s time to change the name! I’m glad that you joined and I’m really hoping that it will be helpful. I just remember how it felt to be working towards D.O.N.E. and how people thought I was crazy. I needed the support. Fortunately I was a part of FinCon but not everyone knows how to find their support network.
