So, as you know I am trying to save money and pay off my debts! But, I don’t want to stop enjoying life along the way. And quite honestly, while there are tons of fun free things to do, I still might want to do things that cost money from time to time. How have I managed to participate without paying? Through volunteering at the event! Seems pretty straight forward, but, a lot of people forget about this as an option to use when you want to participate in an activity, see a show, etc. This weekend was the Denver Post’s Underground Music Festival being held along Broadway (use magical Goodwill as your starting point) I volunteered for 4 hours as a stage manager. It was a late shift (8:00-12:00 pm) but, I got to listen to some great bands and entrance to all FOUR days of the festival! I also got to see Air Dubai perform. They are a local band well on their to becoming very famous, pretty soon. Will blog about them at my other blog: http://hipnowdenver.blogspot.com Last night I watched a friend of mine perform in his band Red Fox Run. All this for 4 hours of volunteer work! So, here’s what you need to know to get started.
