When I quit my old job I had this idea that I would immediately live the life that I was looking for. Well, after four years I’ve finally figured out that lifestyle design is not as easy as it looks. And, that in order for me to be as productive as I’m hoping to be moving forward-I have to be a lot more intentional as I design my best life.

Lifestyle Design
I’ve just returned from a spending 4 days in Breckenridge, Colorado. I soaked in the hot tub, drank wine, and met some amazing people. We hung out, watched a Santa Run, and celebrated the miracle of accidental community.
The thing is, for many years I’ve struggled to create the ideal lifestyle that I was hoping for when I quit my job. As a newly self-employed quasi entrepreneur I thought that it would be easy to figure out what was important to me and always prioritize what was important.
Nope.
I found myself working day and night.Creativity would strike me and I would work all the time. Kind of like most entrepreneurs. At the end of 2017, I found myself looking at:
- My productivity
- My earnings
- Was I having enough fun? No.
- Time to myself
- Time for others
I wasn’t living the way that I dreamed that I would. So, in 2018 I made a number of tweaks so that my work-style and lifestyle matched my vision.
This episode shares some of the changes that I’ve made, what I’m prioritizing and how intentional you REALLY have to be when working for yourself.
