I’m doing something a little different today. Instead of a post about personal finance I would like you to read my friend Amanda’s article about her virginity. It was published in the New York Times Opinionator area and is a truly personal, fascinating, and poignant read. Please check it out.

Interesting article. I’ve been having sex since I was 16 years old, so over ten years now. I think it’s natural, and as long as you’re safe, I don’t really see the point in not doing it. Putting sex on a pedestal and virginity on a pedestal is silly to me. But I appreciate your friends’ perspective.

We have all supported Amanda in doing what is best for her. While I don’t totally understand it, this is her choice. I wrote a little more about her article in tomorrow’s It Started With Lip Gloss post.

Interesting perspective for sure. It wouldn’t be my choice, but to each her own, I guess.

It’s not my choice either (ahem!) but it’s her life and she should do what feels right for her. She is a little taken aback by the reaction-the rest of us aren’t 🙂
