September was a mixed success. The No Grocery Shop Challenge has gone really well I have spent since September 3, 2012 around $280 for food. This includes: groceries, happy hour, and miscellaneous food outside of the home. I did get 4 free meals due to FinCon12 and 2 events that I ran for work that included meals. I didn’t touch the money that I put into my savings account. This is a huge victory for me because I would always move that money into my checking account! And eventually spend it. I am getting closer to paying off a credit card and will reveal how much I paid off when that happens hopefully sometime in November. I did use my Chase card to make 3 purchases which was stupid because that meant I was digging the hole again! I went to Magical Goodwill and spent around $30 bucks during September. I bought a gorgeous silk dress, can’t believe someone would give it up! A beautiful grey scarf for layering on cold days, and a lovely black silk blouse. I did order some items from an online grocer and have decided that the $50 I spent was worth it! Did mention that I might do this when I started the No Grocery Shop challenge. I still haven’t gone to the grocery store and I have saved a lot of money as mentioned in a previous post. Murphy’s Law popped up, I received a tax bill from the state from the year of 2008! It’s only $143 dollars, but it’s super annoying as I am really careful about paying all of my taxes.
Successes
1.) Saved money
2.) Almost ready to pay off a credit card
3.) Found some gorgeous items at thrift store
4.) Saved tons of money grocery shopping
Failed!
1.) Had library fines (didn’t mention in post)
2.) Used credit card to pay for stupid stuff
3.) Received tax bill from the State! Owe $143. Will pay in a week or so.
How did your September measure up?
