The sky is an unforgiving grey. The weather feels oppressive and shocking considering that on Sunday it was a gorgeous spring day in the upper/lower 70’s. Today it’s a frigid 19 degrees reflecting a 55 degree change in temperature, snow is blowing everywhere and we are telling each other that the arrival of the snow is great because we need the moisture. You’ll hear that a lot in Colorado because we have been in the midst of an un-relenting drought for the past couple of years.
The winter weather tempts me to grab my black coat, black turtleneck and slightly morose attitude and embrace the day. Instead, I remember that for week # 2 of the Shop My Closet Challenge I talked about embracing COLOR on the Debt Free Divas’ Podcast last week. Today is a great day to test the curative powers of wearing color. I looked like Rainbow Bright when I was done.

I wore a purple jacket with a pink pashmina. My knit cap was grey and I wore a deep blue sweater and jeans with black riding boots. The color made me happy as I shivered in the cold. So far the challenge is going well, but I’m aware that I won’t feel the pain for awhile. Don’t forget the task for week # 1 of the challenge was to organize your closets/dressers and get rid of anything that you don’t like or doesn’t help you look and feel your best.
This week look in your closets and find some color. I vote-yellow!

Yellow symbolizes the sunshine that I didn’t get to see today.
Don’t forget to start posting pictures of your outfits on either the Shop My Closet Project Facebook Page or the Debt Free Divas’ Facebook page.-especially the last week of April. We have prizes that will be given away. If you don’t want to show your face, no worries! We’re focused on the outfit and your experience using what you have while being creative and saving money.

Ooh, I pulled a yellow cardigan out of the wardrobe at the weekend. Willing the sun to come out. It didn’t, but the cardy was cute!

Are you in/close to London? I will be in London for 10 days in May! I hope the weather is nice while I’m there. Hopefully you’ll get a chance to rock the cardigan soon.
