Summer is tricky for me because it is (like most people) my prime going out time. No, I’m not clubbing. But, I am participating in scavenger hunts, lovely multiple course dinners, lingering at coffee shops, and fantastic music festivals. I also went inside magical Goodwill and walked outside with a cute blouse, a pair of sandals and 2 baby outfits (baby outfits are a gift. Asked the parents if they minded that the gift might come from Goodwill, they said no)
THE DAMAGE-THIS WEEKEND
***Monday of last week-5 course meal $75
1.) Friday-$16 cab home after a work event. Cab driver was a complete jerk btw
2.) Saturday-$26-Mystery Scavenger hunt. Was a lot of fun. But, I spent 5 hours walking around Denver searching for clues with my friend. I also purchased-ice cream $4, $2 iced jasmine tea, $2 seltzer water, $2 iced something else. Did I mention it was 97 degrees?? AND I drank the original bottle of water that I brought from home-haven’t purchased clothing since May
3.) Sunday-$4 iced coffee, $12 Goodwill shoes/shirt/baby clothes, $2 cheese, $ Groceries
4.) Monday-Almost went golfing for $30 (twilight) but scary clouds rolled in
Now last year it was a lot worse. But, every once in awhile I fall off the wagon and spend a lot more than I intended.
Habits last year….and this year until around the month of March
1.) Went to 5 course meals a couple times a month (specifically during the summer) a total of 4 or 6 last summer (June-September)
2.) Went to grocery store every week-would always have a new fabulous recipe that I had to try. Would purchase food items without taking an inventory of my existing food items (all year long)
3.) Went to Magical Goodwill-EVERY weekend. Will do another post on why this Goodwill is so magical. Would always leave with multiple items
4.) Purchased coffee every day. Morning and night. Sigh
5.) Purchased new body products every month several times a month (sometimes the purchase was based on super cute packaging)
6.) Purchased new household products every month several times a month (sometimes the purchase was based on super cute packaging)
7.) Going to Happy Hour every few weeks
8.) A lot of Library Fines
There’s more but, that’s for another day!
Newly emerging habits
1.) Grocery shopping with a very clear meal plan in mind. Actually buying what’s on my list. Nothing else-this is very hard.
2.) Avoiding magical Goodwill
3.) Bringing coffee to work and only buying it on the weekend
4.) Have only purchased body product once this summer-Body Spray and shower scrub from Bath and Bodyworks a total of $6!!!
5.) Using what I have
6.) Have only gone to one five course meal so far this summer
7.) LOVE Happy Hour…but, haven’t really gone this summer
8.) Cutting down on the library fines
