I’m going to let you know now, that this post is going to be all over the place. Normally, I’m super zoned in on personal finance, but, this is a personal finance and lifestyle blog. This post will touch a little bit on both topics. Today (Sunday, April 22nd, 2018) was a beautiful day. After a lovely spring snow on Saturday it was hot as hell today. And, as I hung out on a patio with a view of Denver drinking a grapefruit mimosa I was feeling super grateful. And, as I watched the sun set at almost 8:00 pm I feel a HUGE burst of energy. Spring has given me a spring in my step…and I like it.

Embracing Focus
One of the most challenging tasks that I’ve set for myself in 2018 is to grow my income. I’m not talking by a small amount either. And, I’ve spent the last couple of months looking at what I need to do to actually make that happen. In fact, I had to make some hard choices (First World Problems) in order to begin moving the needle in the direction that I’m focused on.
- Stopped Traveling-This has not been as difficult as I thought it would be. I’ve been traveling since I was born. Literally, since I was born. I’ve visited 45 states and I think 12 different countries. Not traveling for one year is not going to make or break my life. It has however, enabled me to freaking FOCUS and make some things happen.
- Marketing-I’m tired of spinning my wheels and feeling like no one knows what I’m doing. There is a point where you just have to hustle and get in front of people. And, I’m at that point. One of my favorite new things to do is go on podcasts as a guest (need one? Email me-I would love to be on your show! michelleismoneyhungry@gmail.com) it has been a lot of fun discovering all of the different shows that I can share my story on and help that show’s listeners with my experiences.
- Freelance Writing-You know that I love to write but that the business end of freelancing sometimes drives me absolutely crazy. No matter, I’ve begun to get writing and podcast assignments that I enjoy and are pretty lucrative. My goal is to constantly add clients and move on if things get a little crazy.
- The Unapologetically Money Hungry-My Facebook crew of future and current entrepreneurs looking to make more money. How do I help? I work with my group on growing their network and networking skills. Every couple of weeks special guests share their expertise with the group and I also do mini-mastermind meetings as well. If you would like a free 20 minute strategy session focused on networking. Sign up HERE. I’m really enjoying growing the group and being of service in this way. As much as I enjoy online business, I’m loving helping a limited number of people “face to face.” I almost gave up on growing a Facebook group because they are very time consuming to do well. But, I’ve decided to focus on it for the next year.
Losing Weight
This week my favorite free fitness classes begin! We have a ridiculous number of free fitness classes (think legit, kick your a@@ classes) that I enjoy taking. I love working out and find that classes work better for me. While I love hiking, biking, etc. it’s time to really get super focused on fitness. The weight has GOT to go. Basically, I can’t stand it anymore and I’m super motivated. This is also the time of year when it’s a lot of fun to work out at Red Rocks or train for a race. And, now that travel is not happening in 2018-I can focus and get this done.
My Garden
Right now I’m nervously watching the weather report. Typically in Colorado we’re told not to plant our gardens until after Mother’s Day. In fact, last year I planted my garden the first week of June because it snowed a lot in May. I AM SO EXCITED!! It was so frustrating to have such a sucky garden last year. This year is going to rock. What am I growing? What aren’t I growing? Will write a post about that in the future.
There is a lot of change in the air and it’s a wonderful energy to experience. That’s enough of my ramble…

YES, write a post about your garden! I’d love to read it. I think spring is just one of those things that can put a pep in everyone’s step. It’s like a fresh and new beginning. Hard to explain, but easy to feel.

Free classes are the best! I think focusing on not traveling will not only save you money, but give you the opportunity to bring in more money. I sadly changed my Canadian rockies plans to go to Detroit because I’m on a mission to save money. I think the sacrifice will be worth it in the end though.

Damn! I was really looking forward to hearing about your Canada trip. I totally agree re: making more money. I’m a heck of a lot more focused and able to implement the strategies/processes that attract money. And, let’s be honest, I’m working harder LOL!

I need to know about this garden! Particularly, how you keep plants alive. I don’t have a green thumb at all lol!
