This might be a bit of a ramble. It is around 6:00 p.m Thursday evening and I’ve been working non-stop since around 8:30 a.m. I welcome this work as it means that everything is beginning to come together professionally and that finally money will be coming in soon.
At 7:00 p.m. I have a Google Hangout with the wonderful group of people who are in my Mastermind group. We meet twice a month and it has been a wonderful way to grow professionally, get great advice and support, and be supported in my endeavors.
On Monday I participated in a wonderful webinar event for Money Smart Week and had an opportunity to share my thoughts with around 40 people across the U.S. on rebooting your Debt Repayment process when you find that you’ve lost ground. I am loving all of these opportunities and exciting happenings.
But, I find myself unexpectedly exhausted. One of the most important skills that I developed last year was being mindful about managing my health and wellness. Because no one else will.
Taking Time To Slow Down
For this week I am taking some time to slow down. I want to get to the gym and go to yoga. I’m taking time to slow down so that I can show up for all of the wonderful projects that I’m working on and be my best self. I also need to continue showing up for me. I spent at least the past 5 years not showing up for me and I’m no longer willing to let that happen.
It can be scary for people to just let go. But, I have faith in my ability to work as hard as I need to to make sh$t happen.
So, I will go to bed early tonight and recover from a busy week. And then I will show up tomorrow and do a much better job of living my best life.
Next week I will be sharing updates on how freelancing is going, if I continue to feel that quitting my job was a good decision and how it has been switching to a cash budget.
I’m going to leave you with some amazing music. Have a blessed and mazing weekend. Lots to share next week!

I know the feeling. I started yesterday at 6am and ended my day at 9pm. Blogs, regular work, side hustle work…I’m freaking tired! I could give up my pet/passion projects, but I don’t want to because if I don’t keep going, I’ll never get out of the video editing cycle I’m currently in and never produce my own work. But I absolutely recognize the need to slow down and rest. Although I’m not really doing that this weekend (have too many pet projects to finish up), I think after Monday it will slow down a bit. The real rub is that only half of the work I’m putting in actually pays real money! Enjoy your weekend!

I just am super focused on really listening to myself and being mindful when I’m feeling overly tired and stretched too thin in terms of energy. It’s hard though, because you want to pay attention to all of the wonderful things that are happening, work on passion projects, do work that may also be a passion project, and the list goes on. So, I’m making sure that I rest so that I am a lot more alert. I don’t want to be as tired as I was for the past couple of years. Never again! Tonya, I’m just waiting for James Franco to share one of your videos and ask you to make one for him.

lol! What is it about James Franco in particular? Can Ryan Reynolds share my stuff too? 🙂

Ryan Reynolds is a little too pretty but he’ll work LOL! I just like how quirky James Franco is.

That is how we always have to do it, slowly but surely, Michelle. It’s good to know that you’re having freelance jobs and people around you. Your freelancing job seems very exhausting. Find time to relax once in while. Good luck!

The freelancing is nothing compared to a 20+ hour a week commute and dealing with 400+ people. Nothing like it. I used to feel like I was in hell. I just have to slow down and manage my pace 🙂

Timely post for me, Michelle. I am just starting to really focus on caring for myself and slowing down a bit, and even though I haven’t been at it for long, the results are wonderful! Hope your weekend was relaxing and refreshing.

It just doesn’t make sense to run myself into the ground when I made this life switch to avoid that! SO, I slow down when I begin to feel like I’m not feeling ok. I feel a lot better and I’m glad that you’re listening to yourself to. If mama’s not happy-no one else is LOL!

LOL, ain’t it the truth! 🙂
