When I decided to write this blog about a year and half ago, I had the idea that if I shared my story other people would hold me accountable for my fiscal actions. But, the reality is that I have to hold myself accountable for the things that I do. In my opinion personal finance blogs are popular because they are really an unfolding story detailing a person/family/ or couple’s trial and tribulations with life, money, their hopes, and their dreams. We all can relate, and depending on the story-we may find a bit of ourselves in each tale. Then, we become invested in the person’s story and its outcome. How will it end? I’ve read some blogs where the person has blogged for awhile and then succeeds in achieving the goals that they had set for themselves. I’ve also read other blogs where the person has been blogging for awhile (years) and they aren’t where they hoped to be. Not even close. But, that’s life. At least they tried. You never know what’s going to happen A well written blog keeps us coming back because we all want to know how the story will end. The blogs that really capture me unfold like a well told book. Talking about the mundane, highlighting the twists and turns that life inevitably throws at the writer. So, with that in mind. I invite you on my journey. I will try to write my best, be real, and be honest. Especially with myself. Maybe I will succeed at what I’m trying to do, maybe I will fail. But that’s ok. Hopefully both you and I will learn something about ourselves along the way.
